Lions HC Matt Patricia announced Wednesday that they’re placing LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin on injured reserve and promoting LB Eric Lee to their active roster.
Reeves-Maybin, 23, is a former fourth-round pick of the Lions back in 2017. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3.01 million contract and set to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Reeves-Maybin appeared in nine games for the Lions and recorded 13 tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
Lee, 24, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida back in 2016. He was waived at the start of the season, but later added to the Texans’ practice squad.
Houston brought Lee back on a future/reserve contract but he was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason. He had brief stints with the Bills and Patriots before signing on to the Lions’ practice squad at the start of the regular season.
Lee has been on and off of the Lions’ roster this year.
In 2018, Lee appeared in five games for the Lions and recorded two tackles.
