Lions Sign WR Damian Copeland, Cut G Andrew Zeller

The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that they have signed WR Damian Copeland to a contract and placedย G Andrew Zeller on waivers.

Copeland, 25, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in 2014. He was waived with the injury designation in each of his first two years in the NFL and later reverted to the injured reserve list.

The Jaguars elected to cut him loose towards the end of March.

Copeland has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his three years at Louisville, Copeland recorded 116 receptions for 1,521 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.
