The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that they’ve signed LB Tre Williams to a futures contract for the 2019 season.
The Lions have now signed 11 players to futures deals including:
- WR Deontez Alexander
- LB Garret Dooley
- S David Jones
- OL Jarron Jones
- DE Jonathan Wynn
- QB Connor Cook
- RB Mark Thompson
- RB Kerwynn Williams

- LB Tre Williams
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Williams wound up going undrafted out of Auburn back in May of last year. He spent the 2018 season working as a member of the Auburn recruiting office.
During his four-year college career at Auburn, Williams recorded 188 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, two recoveries and two pass defenses over the course of 40 games.
