Lions Sign Logan Thomas To Practice Squad As TE, Cut LB Brandon Chubb

The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve signed Logan Thomas to their practice squad on Monday. Interestingly enough, Thomas has now converted to tight end.

  • The Lions also released LB Brandon Chubb from their practice squad.

The Lions’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Jace Billingsley
  2. CB Alex Carter
  3. WR TJ Jones
  4. G Brandon Thomas
  5. LB Steve Longa
  6. DB Charles Washington
  7. TE Logan Thomas
  8. G Matt Rotherman
  9. TE Khari Lee
  10. WR Corey Fuller

Thomas, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Dolphins.

Thomas is in the third year his four-year, $2,652,092 rookie contract when the Dolphins waived him back in June and he was later claimed by the Giants. Since then, he’s been on and off of their practice squad.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in two games for the Cardinals, even though they lost Carson Palmer and Stanton for the season. He threw for 81 yards and a touchdown, but completed just a single pass attempt.
