Lions Signing DL Nicholas Williams To Two-Year, $10M Deal

Adam Caplan reports that the Lions have agreed to terms with former Bears DL Nicholas Williams to a two-year, $10 million contract.

Even with the signing of Williams, Caplan hears that the Lions aren’t done signing defensive linemen.

Williams, 30, is a former seventh-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He spent over three years with the Chiefs and had a brief stint with the Dolphins before signing on with the Bears in 2018.

Chicago elected to cut Williams loose coming out of the preseason before re-signing him soon after.

In 2019, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded 42 tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 51 interior defensive lineman out of 114 qualifying players.
