Lions Signing LB Jamie Collins To Three-Year, $30M Deal

Nora Princiotti is reporting that the Lions have agreed to a contract with LB Jamie Collins.

According to Ian Rapoport, Collins receives a three-year, $30 million contract that includes $18 million fully guaranteed from the Lions.

Collins’ agent has already confirmed the news:

Collins will now be reunited with Lions coach Matt Patricia.

Collins, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. The Patriots traded him to the Browns for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2016.

The Browns then signed Collins to a four-year, $50 million contract that contained $26 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus. However, the Browns cut him last year and Collins returned to New England a few months later.

In 2019, Collins appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and recorded 81 tackles, seven sacks, three interceptions, a defensive touchdown, three forced fumbles, a recovery and seven passes defended. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 linebacker out of 89 qualifying players.

We had him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
