The Detroit Lions will sign QB Jeff Driskel on Tuesday, per Justin Rogers.
The move corresponds with the team’s earlier release of QB Josh Johnson. Detroit also worked out Driskel last week.
Driskel, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He was waived by the 49ers at the start of the 2016 season and was later claimed off of waivers by the Bengals.
Cincinnati placed Driskel on injured reserve coming out of the preseason. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.45 million deal when the Bengals waived him from injured reserve with a settlement.
In 2018, Driskel appeared in nine games for the Bengals and completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 1,003 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
