Lions Tried Out Four Offensive Linemen

According to Howard Balzer, the Detroit Lions brought in four offensive linemen for tryouts on Friday including C Jake Eldrenkamp, OT Tony Garcia, OT De’Ondre Wesley and G Landon Turner.

Garcia, 24, was drafted by the Patriots with the No. 85 overall pick in the third round of the 2017 draft after they elected to trade up from No. 96 with the Lions. In total, the Patriots gave up a third- and fourth-round pick for the right to take Garcia.

Unfortunately, Garcia missed his entire rookie season due to blood clots in his lungs and the Patriots elected to waive him with a non-football injury shortly after this year’s draft.

The Jets claimed Garcia, but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

During his four-year college career at Troy, Garcia earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors last season and received an All-Sun Belt honorable mention in 2015.
