Lions Waive C Darren Keyton

The Lions placed C Darren Keyton on waivers Thursday, according to Michael Rothstein.

Keyton happens to be the second center cut loose just this week. Detroit is obviously clearing some roster spots for new additions like WR Andre Caldwell and their undrafted rookie class.

Keyton, 25, signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan back in 2013. He wasn’t able to make the Lions’ 53-man roster during his rookie, but later returned to the team on a future/reserve contract.

Last year, Keyton was placed on waivers during the preseason with the injury designation. After clearing waivers, Keyton reverted to their injured reserve list.

Keyton has yet to appear in an NFL game.
