Field Yates of ESPN (via Michael Rothstein) reports that the Lions worked out free agent running backs Bryce Brown, Travaris Cadet and Daniel Thomas on Wednesday.

  • The Lions also brought in TE Cameron Clear and defensive tackles including Andre Fluellen, who was signed to a contract.

Brown, 24, was waived by the Bills a few weeks ago, and has already worked out for the Patriots, Jets and Colts since he became available.

In 2014, Brown appeared in seven games and ran for 126 yards on 36 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with 16 receptions for 176 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Cadet, 26, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market this past March.

The Patriots wound up signing him to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million contract, only to release him a little over a week ago.

This season, Cadet was active for one game and caught one pass for two yards receiving.

Thomas, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. He was never able to live up to expectations in Miami and after playing our his rookie contract, Thomas returned to the Dolphins on a one-year deal last year.

The Bears signed him to a one-year deal this past June, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in 12 games and ran for 168 yards on 44 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 121 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
