Lions Worked Out Six Defensive Backs

According to Howard Balzer, the Detroit Lions brought in six free agent defensive backs for workouts on Wednesday.

The full list of tryouts for the Lions includes:

  1. S Maurice Alexander
  2. S Kurtis Drummond
  3. S Rolan Milligan
  4. S Steven Terrell
  5. S Jack Tocho
  6. S Damarius Travis

Of this group, the Lions signed Milligan to their practice squad.

Drummond, 26, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State back in 2015. He spent a few months on the team’s practice squad before eventually being called up during the 2015 season.

Drummond was in the final year of his three-year, $1.58 million contract when the Texans elected to cut him loose. They re-signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers and was eventually promoted to the active roster.

Since becoming a free agent, Drummond worked out for the Colts last month but left Indianapolis without a contract.

In 2017, Drummond appeared in 15 games and recorded 20 total tackles and one sack.
