Lions WR Ryan Broyles Could Start 2012 On PUP

Detroit Lions GM Martin Mayhew mentioned that second-round pick Ryan Broyles, who was taken 54th overall, could begin the year on the PUP list.

He’s a possible PUP guy, but I think at some point during camp he’ll be ready to go,” said Mayhew of the Oklahoma wide receiver, via MLive.com. He added, “the great thing with him is, we have the ability to take our time.”

Should Broyles end up on the PUP list, it would require him to miss the first six games of the upcoming season. Broyles suffered an ACL injury back in November, but still ran a 4.57 40-yard dash just five months later.
