David Climer of the Tennessean writes that veteran G Andyย Levitre looks like the “odd man out” on the Titans’ offensive line.
According to Climer, the Titans have free agent additionย Byron Bell practicing “extensively” with the first-team offenseย at left guard, which happens to be Levitre’s old position.
Meanwhile,ย Levitre has been working as the team’sย backup center and getting mixed in with the starters from time to time.
Levitre made an interesting comment when asked about how things have been going.
“If it doesn’t work out here, there’s other places,” saidย Levitre.
Levitre, 29, signed a massive six-year, $46.8 million contract that included a $10.5 million signing bonus with the Titans back in 2013. He still has another four years remaining on the contract and stands to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the upcoming season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Levitre would free upย $2.3 million in cap space while creating $6.3 million inย dead money.
In 2014,ย Levitre appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 45 guard in the league out of 78 qualifying players.
