Marshawn Lynch Planning To Retire From NFL

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Marshawn Lynch plans to retire from the NFL and will move n to the next phase of his life.

The Raiders are expected to target a running back in this year’s draft, as they currently have Isaiah Crowell, Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren on their roster at the position.

Jon Gruden reportedly had interest in re-signing Lynch, but it appears as though he felt it was time to call it a career.

Lynch, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement last year and was traded to the Raiders. He’s currently in the final year of his contract and set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2018 season.

Lynch is an unrestricted free agent.

In 2018, Lynch appeared in six games for the Raiders and rushed for 376 yards on 90 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 84 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
