Matt Light Will Retire

According to ProFootballTalk, league sources have informed them that Patriots OT Matt Light “will indeed retire” from the NFL at the age of 33.

Light has been staple in the Patriots offensive line for the last 11 years, in which he started153 career games for them. Light has been reportedly considering retirement for a number of months, so the fact that he decided to call it quits comes as little surprise.

The Patriots are expected to turn to OT Nate Soldier, who will most likely take over Light’s starting spot on the left side.  Soldier was drafted in the first round last year by New England and he started 13 games at right tackle.
