“Momentum Continues To Build” For Dean Pees Joining Titans’ Staff, Possibly As DC

Jeff Zrebiec reports that “momentum continues to build” for former Ravens DC Dean Pees to join Mike Vrabel’s coaching staff with the Titans.

According to Zrebiec, it’s possible Pees could be hired as the Titans’ next defensive coordinator, but no deal is close to being completed at this time. Talks are, however, ongoing so this remains something to keep an eye on in the coming days.

Yesterday, Zrebiec mentioned that he was hearing that the Titans have discussed the possibility of luring Ravens Pees out of retirement to serve as their defensive coordinator.

Zrebiec noteed that Pees has a relationship with new Titans HC Mike Vrabel from their time together in New England. Although, he isn’t sure how likely this possibility is.

Pees made the decision to retire earlier this month and was replaced by Don “Wink” Martindale as the Ravens’ defensive coordinator.

Pees, 68, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as their linebackers coach. He worked his way up to defensive coordinator before joining the Ravens in 2010.

Baltimore promoted him to their defensive coordinator in 2012 and he remained in charge of their defense the past six seasons.

We’ll have more regarding Pees and the Titans as the news is available.
