Muhammad Wilkerson Arrested, Charged With DWI, Possession Of Marijuana & Paraphernalia

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media is reporting that former Jets and Packers DL Muhammad Wilkerson was arrested earlier this week by New Jersey State Police and charged with DWI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is the second DWI arrest for Wilkerson since last June.

Wilkerson wound up sitting out the entire 2019 season and there wasn’t any reported interest in him beyond the Packers possibly being open to him returning.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll ever play in the NFL again.

Wilkerson, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Jets back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with the Jets and was in line to be an unrestricted free agent before he was franchised.

The Jets later signed Wilkerson to a five-year, $86 million contract before releasing him in 2018. From there, Wilkerson signed a one-year contract with the Packers worth up to $8 million, but he was later placed on injured reserve after a serious leg/ankle injury.

In 2018, Wilkerson appeared in two games and recorded four tackles and no sacks for the Packers.
