New Deal For Fred Jackson In The Works?

After signing QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to a new contract, the Bills were believed to be turning their attention to WR Steve Johnson who is set to hit free agency at the end of season but Buffalo may instead be focused on locking up RB Fred Jackson.

Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo reports that the team address K Rian Lindell and RT Erik Pears, who will both be free agents, before focusing on a new deal for Jackson.

It may be hard to believe but Jackson is a legitimate MVP contender at this point in the season and his value to the team has never been higher which makes it very likely that the team will look to lockup him in the near future. Jackson has said that he would like a new contract before the start of the season and at this point he’s the Bills best weapon so I’d imagine that talks will begin at some point in the coming weeks.
