NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins

Cowboys

• Todd Archer of ESPN writes that if the price is right, the Dallas Cowboys should keep veteran LB Sean Lee, even though Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch will take over as the team’s top-two linebackers in 2019.

Eagles

• Eagles impending free agent WR Golden Tate responded to a tweet from Adam Schefter about the Falcons signing LB Bruce Carter to an extension, saying: “Oh so you don’t have to wait until March to sign extensions. Hmm interesting, good to know.”

Redskins

Redskins RB Chris Thompson admitted that the players are aware that it’s unlikely QB Alex Smith will play in 2019. 

“We know and understand that it’s probably not going to happen that we have him this year,” Thompson said, via NBC Washington.
