  • Jones added that there’s currently not enough information available to make a decision.

Cowboys

Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones admitted that they’re still in the market for safety help right now with Xavier Woods dealing with a hamstring injury and Kavon Frazier playing through a separated left shoulder.

“We’re certainly not naive,” Jones said Wednesday, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “We’re looking for safety help out there as we are offensive line help. With Xavier being a big question mark for the first game, second game, whatever it is he might miss, we’re certainly on that. Obviously, Kavon got a little busted up as well in terms of his shoulder, but he’s a tough guy, and we feel good about him playing against Carolina. But we’re on the hunt for Red October there — both safety and offensive line.

We’re always looking to improve our team, and we’ll certainly continue to see what’s out there — monitor what we can get our hands on,” Jones added. “I give [vice president of player personnel] Will [McClay] and his staff a lot of credit. They’ve done a good job of being out there scouting the other teams, and we’re having a lot of communication with them and feel real confident that we’ve done a good job and will do good in finding some nuggets out there who can help us win football games.

Eagles

Eagles G Chance Warmack said he is unsure about his future with the team after trade rumors involving him recently surfaced.

Honestly, man, I don’t know what’s going on,” Warmack said, via Les Bowen. “I’m just focused on the Jets [in the final preseason game]. That’s all I can control.”

Bowen notes that seventh-round OL Jordan Mailata appears to be the favorite to take Warmack’s roster spot should he be traded.
