NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Packers

Bears

Bears fourth-round WR Riley Ridley enters a crowded wide receiver depth chart in Chicago. The rookie is focused on doing what he has to do to make sure the Bears can’t keep him off the field, though.

“I’m trying to learn, learn learn,” Ridley said via USA Today’s Alyssa Barbieri. “Learn as much as I can, learn the playbook, learn other guys’ positions because that’s the way you play more. That’s the way you gain trust in your coaches, your quarterback.”

Under new HC Matt LaFleur, all the Packers wide receivers are expected to learn all the different positions in the offense. However, Packers WR Geronimo Allison has emerged as an early leader to take the most snaps in the slot for the Packers in 2019.

“He’s the guy who’s been working a lot in the slot, and he’s used to playing a little more outside, but this is making him a little more dynamic,” Packers WR Davante Adams said via Wes Hodkiewicz of the official team website. “I think Matt has really tested him or challenged him to widen it out so he can play multiple spots. … Him being able to move around right now and be healthy, be himself and just play, being able to have all those things, it’s going to be dangerous.”
