NFC Notes: 49ers, Cardinals, Falcons

49ers

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo bounced back on Saturday from a poor preseason debut, completing 14-of-20 pass attempts for 188 yards and a touchdown.

“All the hearsay and whatever noise is going to go on, you have to ignore it and just go play football,” Garoppolo said, via ESPN.com. “I thought it was a good step coming back here to K.C., where it all started. So, just get that out of the way. It’s another step in the right direction.”

• 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said there’s hope C Weston Richburg could be taken off the PUP list this week and start working toward Week 1. (Nick Wagoner)
• Regarding first-round DE Nick Bosa, Shanahan said: “No change. Still rehabbing and doing well. We know there’s a chance of him for Week 1 but will get a better idea after this week.” (Cam Inman)

Cardinals

• According to Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals signed WR Michael Crabtree to a one-year deal worth $3.25 million that can be worth up to $5.5 million with incentives. 
• Cardinals placed WR Hakeem Butler and DB Josh Shaw on injured reserve. (NFLTR)

Falcons

• Falcons first-round OT Kaleb McGary underwent a cardiac ablation procedure in late July to address an irregular heartbeat.
• Falcons HC Dan Quinn said Sunday that McGary has been cleared to participate fully in practices.
• Quinn told reporters that they discussed the possibility of bringing in veteran Matt Bryant. (Vaughn McClure)
• According to Quinn, there’s an open competition this week with Giorgio Tavecchio and Blair Walsh.
