NFC Notes: Buccaneers, Cowboys, Giants

Buccaneers

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter mentioned that DE Jason Pierre-Paul has been a “very pleasent surprise” for them during training camp.

Very pleasant surprise,” Koetter said of JPP, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “I guess I wasn’t expecting JPP to be the practice player and the leader that he’s been so far. Really fired up about it. Sometimes a guy that’s got his pedigree comes in and is looking for way out of drills and that’s not him at all.”

Cowboys

Todd Archer reports that Cowboys C Travis Frederick received good news from Dr. Robert Watkins that he is not dealing with a potentially more severe injury than the series of stingers.

Specifically because with stingers deal with your neck and that’s something I think is a pretty important part of your body,” Frederick said. “So I just made sure I was safe for the long term.”

Giants

Regarding his contract situation, Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr said he thinks everything will work out in the end.

“I definitely think it’s going to work itself out,” Beckham said, per Dan Duggan. “When is it going to happen? You don’t know … It’s a matter of time, just like everything in life.” Said he’s letting the Giants and his agent figure it out.
