Lions
Lions GM Bob Quinn mentioned that new DE Trey Flowers is a perfect fit for them and a huge free agency win.
โHeโs a three-down player with position versatility,โ Quinn said via Tim Twentyman. โAffects the quarterback, affects the run game, knows the technique, knows the scheme. Thereโs not a lot of sure bets in free agency. Certain years you can be more aggressive than others. With the money that we paid those guys, the contracts, speaks to what we think of them and we think they can help us win games, and thatโs the bottom line. We want to get as many players into our team and our scheme that can help us win more.โ
- On the attempted signing of Rams RFA RB Malcolm Brown, Quinn called it a “roll of the dice.”: “We took a shot at it, it didn’t work out, but it’s something that he’s a good player and could definitely help us,” (Justin Rogers)
- Regarding DT Damon Harrison‘s request for a contract extension, Quinn said his first priority is the draft: โItโs something that I got to talk to (agent Drew Rosenhaus) this week, and going into the future. Not something that I need to do right now.
