NFC Notes: Cardinals, 49ers, Rams

Cardinals

  • Per ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he would probably retire if the team wins the Super Bowl: “That would definitely validate me. You wouldn’t see me around here anymore.”
  • Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson said he hasn’t had any discussions with the team yet about an extension. (Bob McManaman)
  • However, Peterson says he’s not sweating it right now as he enters the final year of his deal: “I’m at peace. There’s nothing I can do about it. I’m under contract until the end of this season. All I can do right now is play ball.” (Weinfuss)

49ers

  • Per NBC Sports’ Jennifer Lee Chan, 49ers DE Nick Bosa says San Francisco is better prepared to face QB Kyler Murray after he lit them up in both games last year: “We know what we are facing. Obviously, we knew he was mobile last year, but now we know where he likes to go, where he likes to roll out, where he likes to escape. Little things like that.”
  • The 49ers brought in K Kai Forbath and LS Taybor Pepper for tryouts on Thursday. (Aaron Wilson)
