NFC Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons

Cowboys

Cowboys K Dan Bailey says he’s looking to rebound from what was a down 2017 season by his standard.

“I feel really good,” Bailey said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “As far as the weight room and all that stuff, the offseason training, I’ve actually improved in a lot of areas. I feel healthy; I feel good. Just looking forward to get going come training camp.”

Eagles

  • Although Eagles HC Doug Pederson said Jay Ajayi will be the lead running back next season, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports does not expect Ajayi to exceed 200 carries given the team is concerned about the back’s “chronic knee issues.”
  • Drew Rosenhaus announced Thursday that he now represents Eagles RB Jay Ajayi, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract and will be a free agent in 2019.

Falcons

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that the Falcons could consider starting rookie CB Isaiah Oliver at right corner this year and have Robert Alford compete with Brian Polle for the nickel corner job.

“I’m sure I’ll be moving around throughout training camp, but through (the offseason) I was at right corner on the outside,” Oliver said. “That’s probably where I’ll be for the most part.

Oliver added that he knows he’s going to have to earn the job this summer.

So, from a competitive standpoint, we are always going to compete,” Oliver said. “That’s one of the biggest things on the team here, is that battle aspect. So, we are going to compete against each other. Compete against the offense and compete in everything that we do.

“So, that just kind of comes with it. Then the play of the field is just the play on the field.”
