NFC Notes: Falcons, Giants, Redskins

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn said Monday that he doesn’t anticipate them making at trades before tomorrow’s deadline.

“(General manager) Thomas (Dimitroff) and I certainly discuss options and obviously he fields calls for our team,” Quinn said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “(He also fields callls) other teams, people that reach out, but we really feel that this team that we have and where we are at and how we can go and attack from here, we’ve got the right men in the building to do that.”

Giants

  • Giants HC Pat Shurmur was again asked Monday if Eli Manning will be their starting quarterback to which he said: “We’ll see. But yeah, I think Eli’s our QB. I know what you’re all trying to tease a headline out of. At this point Eli’s our QB and we’re looking at all ways to improve.” (Ralph Vacchiano)
  • Shurmur said he’s pretty confident that WR Odell Beckham and S Landon Collins will remain with the Giants: “I see then being Giants moving forward.” (Jordan Raanan)

Redskins

Redskins HC Jay Gruden tells JP Finlay of NBC Washington that he doesn’t expect to make any trades before Tuesday’s deadline.

We’ll entertain offers and all that stuff but right now with the roster the way it is and some of the injuries that are kind of lingering it’s just going to be hard to add another body. We’d have to make a roster move and I don’t know if we have the ability to do that right now,” Gruden said.

“You never know. We’ll wait and see,” Gruden added. “I like the team we have. I really don’t think we need any changes right now.”

  • Redskins CB Quinton Dunbar said he’s hoping to play this week and explained that the nerve damage he’s been dealing with is in his hamstring. (John Keim)
  • Redskins RB Chris Thompson is dealing with rib injuries on both sides. (JP Finlay)
  • According to Gruden, “there’s a good chance” LT Trent Williams can play through his thumb injury but they won’t be sure until later in the week. (JP Finlay)
