Lions
Lions TE coach Ben Johnson said TE T.J. Hockenson still has a lot of room to grow in the NFL.
“There’s plenty of meat still on the bone,” Johnson said, via Lions.com. “We’re looking forward to getting even more from him.”
“The sky’s the limit for this kid. I really look forward to seeing him take that next step.”
- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press writes multiple teams have reached out to the Lions about OT Tyrell Crosby since the draft. Detroit is not shopping Crosby, however.
- Birkett says right now Crosby is the sixth offensive lineman and the top backup at both tackle and guard spots, which has value to the Lions. He could also potentially beat out Halapoulivaati Vaitai to start at right guard.
- He adds 2021 is a make-or-break year for Vaitai, as he has no more guaranteed money remaining on his deal after this season.
Packers
- According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the 79 Packers players showed up for OTAs on Tuesday.
- Packers DT Kenny Clark doesn’t think the situation with QB Aaron Rodgers will be a distraction: “I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a distraction. We’ve got to control what we can control as a team.” (Ryan Wood)
- Packers HC Matt LaFleur said QB Jordan Love has worked hard in the offseason and it shows so far during OTAs. (Stacey Dales)
- LaFleur also said the team has to continue to show Rodgers how much they want him back: “We’re just going to continue to work through this, and hopefully we can get him back in the building at some point.” (Wood)
- Lafleur isn’t concerned about WRs Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard not attending OTAs. (Wood)
- Lafleur mentioned that even though QB Blake Bortles didn’t participate in OTAs, they plan on getting him up to speed. (Matt Schneiderman)
- Packers S Adrian Amos supports Rodgers and is prepared to play with or without him: “I expect him to be, but I’m not going to go home and cry and if something else happens … Of course, you want one of the greatest QBs on your team. But I’m not going to knock anybody for getting what they feel like they deserve.” (Demovsky)
- Packers RB Aaron Jones told reporters Rodgers didn’t tell him he wanted out this offseason but even if he had it wouldn’t have changed his decision to re-sign with Green Bay: “This is home. This is where I love to be.” (Wood)
- Jones also thinks Love looks more comfortable this season: “He’s gonna continue to grow, and I’m happy to be here working with him.” (Schneiderman)
Vikings
- According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, Vikings DE Danielle Hunter didn’t attend OTAs on Monday which wasn’t a huge shock to people with the team.
- Cronin adds OTAs are voluntary right now but Hunter could still skip the rest of the offseason program plus minicamp, especially if he remains frustrated about his contract as his camp indicated last season.
