Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson enters the final year of his contract this season. Stevenson is focused on playing well and is confident everything will work out in the end. 

“Honestly,” Stevenson said, via Dan Weiderer of The Athletic. “I’m not like a real down-the-road thinker. … My goal is to be the best corner on this team aside from Jaylon Johnson and just help this team win. I feel like with me doing that and being a selfless guy for this team, everything will work itself out.”

Chicago HC Ben Johnson said Stevenson has improved his attention in meetings and applying what he’s learning onto the field. 

“It’s really the focus level of being in the building, paying attention in meetings and continuing to apply that on the field throughout a two-plus-hour practice,” Johnson said. “I think we’ve seen strides there. It’s certainly improving and continuing to improve. He knows it (is a point of emphasis). So we’re pretty happy with where he’s at.”

Stevenson admitted that he needs to improve on his lapses in focus. 

“It’s something I need to improve,” Stevenson said. “I feel like every day you come in here — and with life in general — you just find something to improve. This just happens to be something where I have to get my game up so they feel like it’s where they need it to be.”

Lions

The Lions signed LB Devin White to fortify that position after some injuries early in training camp. White isn’t just a rando off the street, though; he’s a former first-round pick, Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro who started 17 games for the Raiders last year. There’s a reason he wasn’t signed until now but he could be a legit factor for Detroit in 2026. For his part, there was a reason the Lions appealed to him, too. 

“They’ve got all the attributes, and they’re doing all the right things. … I think that’s one good thing that I’ve seen on the first day of practice for me, is just we were situation-aware,” White said via Richard Silva of the Detroit News. “That’s really, really good. And, obviously, hard work pays off at the end of the day. That’s what this team is about. … I asked a couple of guys, ‘What’s the standard around here?’ And it’s like, ‘Man, all out, all out.’  So, I think I fit right in.”

Packers

Packers WR Christian Watson said Green Bay’s receiver room must turn its long-discussed potential into tangible production.

“We’ve got all the potential in the world,” Watson said, via Packers Wire. “I don’t necessarily like that word (potential) all the time, because we’ve had a lot of potential the past few years in the receiver room. We wish we would’ve accomplished more as a group, so we’ve gotta find a way to turn that potential into success and make those plays, make catches and score touchdowns. I think we’ve got everything we need in the receiver room. I’m excited to see how we continue to grow through this training camp and hit the ground running when it’s Week 1.”

Watson said having Green Bay’s top pass catchers healthy together will help the offense build timing, trust and cohesion.

“The more reps we can get as a group, the better off we’ll be as an offense. That’ll build that trust, that connection, there’s a lot of intricacies with timing and everything, so I’m excited to mesh with this group. We’ll hopefully get Tuck back soon and take that another level further.”

Watson added that second-year WR Matthew Golden has embraced contributing even when he is not targeted and is positioned to take a step forward.

“I think it’ll be an exciting training camp for (Golden) just in terms of cutting it loose, going out there and making plays. The hardest part about training camp and being a young guy who’s eager to go out there is that there’s only one football to go around, so I think he’s done a great job of embracing the fact that he can win a rep even without getting the ball on that play.”

Watson also said WR Isaiah Neyor has the physical tools and playmaking ability to earn a larger role as he becomes more comfortable in the offense.

“He’s got all the tools. He’s got good speed, he’s obviously got the length and the size, and just his playmaking ability. From the moment he got here, (even if) it was on the scout team last year, finding ways to make plays. For any young guy it really just comes down to getting the system down, getting enough confidence from the coaching staff and the other players that when you’re out there, you’re going to do the right thing, he continues to grow in that aspect.”
