NFC Rumors: Kyler Murray, Cardinals, Cowboys

Kyler Murray

A GM tells Mike Sando of ESPN that the Cardinals are a lock to take Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall. 

“Arizona is going to take Murray No. 1,” the GM said. 

Sando asked the GM whether he was betting on it to happen, figuratively.

“I’m not betting,” he replied. “I’m telling you, it’s going to happen.”

Cardinals

• According to Albert Breer, the Cardinals appear to be in the market for a veteran backup quarterback. 
• Breer says this could mean that Mike Glennon is on the chopping block this offseason. 
• Depending on what type of backup this sign could shed some light on whether they’ll keep Josh Rosen or draft Kyler Murray No. 1 overall. 
• Breer reports that the Cardinals have “kicked the tires” on Seahawks free agent RB Brett Hundley, which would work with draft Murray with the first pick. 

Cowboys

• Penn State CB Amani Oruwariye said he met with the Cowboys at the Combine. (Jon Machota)
• Houston CB Isaiah Johnson mentioned that he met the Cowboys at the Combine. (Jon Machota)
• Texas DE Charles Omenihu says he met with Dallas at the Senior Bowl and also had an informal visit with the Cowboys at the Combine.  (Jon Machota)
