The Athletic’s Joseph Person says the Panthers are seen as a wildcard team to potentially trade up to No. 1 overall for LSU QB Joe Burrow given how owner David Tepper has established himself as someone who’s not afraid to make a splash.
Carolina also hired Burrow’s passing game coordinator, Joe Brady, as their offensive coordinator.
However, the Bengals would have to be willing to trade and the Panthers would likely have to give up a huge amount of draft capital to make the deal work.
The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue reports the Panthers are expected to thoroughly evaluate a number of quarterbacks in this year’s draft.
ESPN’s Mike Triplett says the Saints won’t try to use the franchise tag on QB Teddy Bridgewater to try and pull off a tag-and-trade move. Instead, they’ll bank on potentially getting a compensatory pick for him in 2021.
