NFC West Rumors: 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams

49ers

49ers GM John Lynch said he’d be open to trading down in the first round.

“If something came to us that was too good to be true … (there are) players we’d be comfortable taking in the middle of the round, like at 10,” Lynch said via Cam Inman. “We’ve done our due diligence.”

  • Lynch also said he hopes OT Joe Staley remains with the 49ers until he retires: “My hope is he plays for one organization.” (Eric Branch)
  • While K Robbie Gould has yet to sign the franchise tag and is working on his own in Chicago, Lynch says he’s still in the team’s plans: “Robbie’s going to be a part of us this coming year. I know that. We’d like it longer than that. We haven’t come to an agreement of yet.” (Inman)
  • Lynch mentioned the 49ers haven’t yet received any offers “of substance” for the No. 2 overall pick. (Inman)

Cardinals

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, HC Kliff Kingsbury and GM Steve Keim will have a final meeting to discuss the No. 1 overall pick.
  • Rapoport adds the Cardinals have received feeler calls about teams wanting to trade up as well.
  • Chris Mortensen says to expect the Cardinals to be patients with QB Josh Rosen if they take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, as they’ll try to recoup as much value as possible.
  • Peter King hears that Nick Bosa is the “choice of many” inside the Cardinals’ organization and view him as a “generational player.” However, he would still be surprised if they didn’t select Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall.
  • According to Todd McShay, a handful of people are starting to question whether Murray is still the No. 1 pick, including a general manager he spoke to in recent days. However, McShay is sticking with Murray to Arizona to open the draft.

Rams

  • Jason La Canfora wonders if the Rams could be a potential trade option for Seahawks DE Frank Clark
  • Matt Barrows believes the Rams could be targeting Maryland S Darnell Savage with the No. 31 overall pick.

Seahawks

  • Seahawks GM John Schneider called the prospect of trying to keep Frank Clark, Bobby Wagner and Jarran Reed all together defensively moving forward “feasible but very challenging.” (Bob Condotta)
  • The Seahawks have shown a lot of interest in Iowa S Amani Hooker. (Andrew Krammer)
