ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts have extend their franchise tag to Peyton Manning. Once again, not all that shocking considering who we are talking about. Schefter added that the tag will pay Manning over $23 million for the 2011 season and that the two sides will continue to work on a new deal.
I would expect that the Colts would use the exclusive rights franchise tag that the Eagles used earlier today on Michael Vick which basically ensures that the players who is designated cannot sign with another team. Indianapolis is not going to take any chances when it comes to their best player.
