The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that they placed their franchise tag on Tamba Hali. Hali is the 8th player to receiver the franchise tag in the last few days.
Team GM Scott Pioli praised Hali while mentioning that they plan on working out a longterm contract.
“Tamba is a key contributor to our football team, and we have a tremendous amount of respect for him both personally and professionally,” Pioli said. “We want Tamba to remain a member of the Chiefs, and we will continue to work together with the hope of reaching a long-term agreement.”
There is no doubt that Hali is one of the leagues best rushers which makes him nearly irreplaceable. Kansas City has done a great job of putting together a young and talent group of players on both sides of the ball so signing players like Hali will ultimately determine how successful they’ll end being in the coming years.
