NFL News: Panthers Sign Sean McDermott & Rob Chudzinski

Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer reports that Ron Rivera has decided to go with former Chargers tight end coach Rob Chudzinski.

Chudzinski coached the Browns during the 2007 season which happened to be the best offensive season for the Browns in years. Still, Chudzinski will have his work cut out for him as he will be inheriting the leagues worst offense and a project quarterback in the making. This will be interesting to see if he is able to get the Panthers offense turned around.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweets that Sean McDermott will be the Carolina Panthers next defensive coordinator. Earlier today it was reported that the McDermott was meeting with the Panthers so it looks like things went really well.

The Panthers have brought in Ron Rivera as their next head coach so he should help McDermott more than Andy Reid did while in Philadelphia.
