NFL Note: Tom Brady, Chargers, Cowboys, Jets & Panthers

Tom Brady

The U.S. Court of Appeals said on Tuesday that oral arguments for Tom Brady‘s suspension litigation will not begin until Feb. 1, via ESPN.

With the Super Bowl being played on Feb. 7, this guarantees that Brady will play for the remainder of the 2015 NFL season and the playoffs.

On Sept. 3, U.S. District Court Judge Richard M. Berman overturned the NFL’s four-game suspension for Tom Brady. The NFL then decided to appeal Berman’s decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Interesting enough, Tom Florio of Pro Football Talk reasons that Brady could elect to retire at the end of the season, which would totally nullify any decision for a suspension against Brady.

Chargers

  • Chargers promoted OT Tyreek Burwell from their practice squad.

Cowboys

Jets

  • Jets announced that S Ronald Martin has been signed to the practice squad, while CB Keon Lyn has been released from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move.

Panthers

  • Panthers worked out three punters on Tuesday, including: Brad Podlesh, Spencer Lanning and Kasey Redfern, but none were signed to a contract. (Joe Person)
