NFL Notes: Baker Mayfield, Nick Nelson, Ronnie Harrison, Draft

Baker Mayfield

  • Robert Klemko reports that Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield wrapped his visit with the Broncos on Tuesday and will now travel to Arizona to meet with the Cardinals for his final pre-draft visit.
  • Klemko predicts that the Jets and Broncos are options 1a and 1b respectively.
  • If Mayfield falls to the Broncos at No. 5 overall, Klemko could see the Dolphins or Bills trading up for him, assuming they haven’t already made deals to move up for a quarterback.

Nick Nelson

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Wisconsin CB Nick Nelson underwent successful surgery to fix his torn meniscus on Tuesday.
  • Nelson got some good news from Dr. James Andrews, who confirmed that he did not need to fully repair the meniscus.
  • Instead, Nelson had his meniscus trimmed and cleaned it out, which means his recovery is six weeks, as opposed to 3-4 months and should be ready for the start of training camp. (Ian Rapoport)

Ronnie Harrison

  • Mike Garafolo reports that Alabama S Ronnie Harrison had private workouts or visits with the Steelers, Giants, Lions, Titans, Jaguars, Vikings, Bengals, Panthers, Seahawks, Texans, Patriots and Eagles.
  • According to Garafolo, Harrison should end up being select in the second round.
