NFL Notes: Bengals, Broncos, Cardinals, Texans

Bengals

Broncos

Broncos OLB Von Miller said Wednesday on “The Dan Patrick Show that he believes signing Kirk Cousins in free agency would “take us over the edge.

He knows exactly how I feel about Kirk Cousins and what he’d mean to our team,” Miller said. “And what he would mean to a lot of other teams. He’s the hot quarterback on the market right now. … Yeah, we need Kirk. We need Kirk. I’d like to have Kirk. We have great quarterbacks now. Kirk could take us over the edge.

A report from earlier in the day mentioned that the Broncos and Jets are likely to battle it out for Cousins in the coming months (NFLTR).

We have Cousins featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Cardinals

  • Mike Jurecki expects Cardinals WR Jaron Brown to secure a “nice deal” as a free agent in the coming months, even though he’s coming off of a torn ACL.
  • Jurecki adds that he can’t see Brown returning to Arizona, depending on his market value.

Texans

Texans QB Deshaun Watson said during an appearance on Pro Football Talk Live Wednesday that he believes he injured his ACL during their game against the Seahawks when he took a shot to the knee from DE Frank Clark.

“It just didn’t really click because I tore my left one before and when I tore that one I knew right when I did it,” Watson said. “With my right one, I didn’t know at all. I kinda went back and watched the Seattle game again and I seen the hit that I got rolled up on. And I kinda had a feeling [that loosened it up].”

Watson added that having gone through an ACL rehab before has been “very helpful” to him this time around and to his overall approach. While Watson has yet to start jogging, he feels “on track” for to return for the start of the 2018 season.
