NFL Notes: Broncos, Emmanuel Sanders, Colts & Seahawks

Colts owner Jim Irsay told reporters that Andrew Luck’s new extension works with their gap and will allow them to franchise him in the final year of the agreement in needed.

“It works with the cap,” Irsay said, per Kevin Bowen. “It works with tagging in the last year. I think both sides accomplished everything we wanted to do.

Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin says that despite the team’s financial commitments to him and QB Russell Wilson, they’re still going to focus on running the ball.

Of course, that’s our philosophy,” Baldwin said in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio. “We’re going to run the ball and we’re going to be aggressive with running the ball. And then we’re going to be explosive in the passing game, but more so to make sure that we’re moving the sticks so that we can continue to pound the rock between the tackles. That’s just how we’re going to do things.

We’ve shown that that’s a successful formula for us in going to back-to-back Super Bowls, being in the playoffs for four years straight. That’s not going to change for us. We take pride in that. So I’m looking forward to doing the same things that we’ve been doing and making them better so that we can have a shot at some more titles.”
