Ray Rice

  • ESPN reports that former Ravens RB Ray Rice is on Mike Martz’s coaching staff for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl as a co-running backs coach.

Browns

  • Jason La Canfora reports that veteran offensive coach Al Saunders is a “strong candidate” to join Hue Jackson’s coaching staff.

Buccaneers

  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the hiring of four new assistants including: special teams coordinator Nate Kaczor, DL coach Jay Hayes, LBs coach Mark Duffner and DBs coach Jon Hoke.

Chargers

Steelers

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he won’t need to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder.

“From what I’ve been told by [Dr. James] Bradley, no surgery,” Roethlisberger said in a radio interview, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “The ligaments will scar up and heal on their own. The only thing he could foresee possibly down the road is cleaning out the arthritis and scars. I don’t foresee any surgeries anytime soon.
