NFL Notes: Browns, Cardinals, Jets, Raiders, & Titans



  • The Browns will interview Bills senior offensive assistant Jim Hostler for their offensive-coordinator vacancy. (Jeremy Fowler)


  • Kent Somers reports that the Cardinals HC Bruce Arians plans to promote an assistant coach to defensive coordinator at some point in the near future.
  • However, Somers isn’t sure what assistant could get the job.
  • This means former Steelers DC Dick LeBeau could be hired as a senior assistant.


  • Jason La Canfora is hearing that there is a “strong chance” former Jaguars GM Gene Smith will secure a “considerable role” with the Jets.


  • New HC Jack Del Rio will likely target Mike Tice to be his offensive line coach, but he would have to be let out of his contract with Atlanta for this to be an option. (Jeff Darlington)
  • The Raiders want to keep quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, despite the fact that his contract expired yesterday. (Adam Caplan)
