Browns

• Aaron Wilson reports that the Browns have signed defensive back Varmah Sonie to a contract.

Cardinals

• Cardinals GM Steve Keim tells Jason La Canfora that he expected some of his free agents like CB Antonio Cromartie to test the market before gauging whether or not he’ll be back.

Lions

• Lions GM Martin Mayhew said that no decision has been made on free agent DT Nick Fairley. (Kevin Patra)
• Mayhew added that a “vast majority” of Fairley’s situation depends on what transpires with Ndamukong Suh. (Kevin Patra)
• Mayhew can see both or neither returning to the Lions next year. (Kevin Patra)

Raiders

• New HC Jack Del Rio mentioned that he has met with RB Maurice Jones-Drew, but wouldn’t promise him roster spot. (Marc Sessler)

Redskins

• HC Jay Gruden said that Robert Griffin III will enter the season as their “No. 1 guy.“
• Former HC Mike Shanahan said that he never wanted to trade for Donovan McNabb several years ago and it was Dan Synder’s idea. (Michael David Smith)
