NFL Notes: Browns, Ravens, Redskins, & Texans

Browns

According to Jason Cole of B/R, the Browns elected to sign QB Robert Griffin III because they plan to explore their options for the No. 2 overall pick.

Cole mentions that if a team were able to trade up ahead of them to No. 1 overall with the Titans and take a quarterback, they have the ability to move in a different direction now that RGIII is in the fold.

Cole says that the Browns currently have NDST QB Carson Wentz as the top player at the quarterback position on their draft board.

However, should they shift gears, Cole mentions Ohio State DE Joey Bosa or another top defender as potential options for them.

Ravens

Earlier in the week, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti told reporters that Eugene Monroe is โ€œour left tackle.โ€

โ€œHe is our left tackle going into next year,โ€ Bisciotti said, via the Baltimore Sun. โ€œYou have to know what you get out of the guy, and Eugene has been a pretty durable player these last couple years. But nobody works out harder than he does. I just feel bad. I think a lot of the speculation about us moving on from him clearly comes down to the fact that heโ€™s been hurt a lot, because heโ€™s played pretty well when heโ€™s been in there.โ€

Redskins

Redskins HC Jay Gruden said theyโ€™re still evaluating where WR Andre Roberts fits in their offense.

โ€œYeah weโ€™ll have to wait and see. See how it plays out. Thereโ€™s still gonna be some work to be done with our roster before training camp,โ€ Gruden said, via ESPN.com. โ€œNothing against Andre, heโ€™s an excellent wide receiver in this league and you want to keep him around but obviously thereโ€™s only one ball and thereโ€™s only two or three positions so we have to figure out what weโ€™re gonna do with those spots.โ€

Texans

  • Matt Miller of B/R reports that the Texans worked out Ohio State WR Braxton Miller on Friday.
