Cardinals

• Rookie QB Logan Thomas took all of the third-team snaps on Tuesday with Ryan Lindley out of practice.

Jets

• HC Rex Ryan told reporters that QB Geno Smith will play the entire first quarter with Michael Vick taking over in the second. (Rich Cimini)

Lions

• The Lions have first-round pick TE Eric Ebron listed as their third-string tight end on their depth chart.

Redskins

• DL Jason Hatcher was able to do some work on a side field and return to practice by Monday, but he’s unlikely to play in the team’s second preseason game. (John Keim)
• HC Jay Gruden said he would like the starters to play between 8 to 10 snaps during Thursday’s game. (John Keim)
