NFL Notes: Chiefs, Falcons, Giants, Jaguars & Jets

Chiefs

• Chiefs HC Andy Reid said that RB Jamaal Charles (knee) looked better last week, but he didn’t confirm whether Charles will back for their Week 3 game. (Terez A. Paylor)

Falcons

• Adam Schefter reports that the Falcons WR Julio Jones suffered strained calf injury during Sunday’s game, but it’s not considered to be serious.

Giants

• Giants HC Ben McAdoo announced that S Mykkele Thompson has a knee injury and will be out a few weeks. (Ralph Vacchiano)

Jaguars

• The Jaguars announced Monday that LT Kelvin Beachum will be released from the hospital and return to Jacksonville today. Beachum will remain in the NFL’s concussion protocol until he’s been officially cleared.
• Jaguars HC Gus Bradley said that they will explore their options at left tackle this week if Beachum is unable to play.  (Michael DiRocco)

Jets

• Jets HC Todd Bowles was asked about the reports that WR Brandon Marshall has a “sprained MCL” to which he said: “That’s not what I was told.” (Kimberly A. Martin)
• Bowles also announced WR Eric Decker has a shoulder injury. (Rich Cimini)
