- Todd Archer does not think the Cowboys will sign a free agent cornerback or pass rusher this season to help their pass defense.
- Archer believes it would take a “miracle” for second-round LB Jaylon Smith (knee) to play in the 2016 playoffs. Although there has been “some regeneration” in his knee’s nerve,ย it has not been a significant recovery.

- Eagles declared RB Ryan Mathews (knee) and OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee) out for Week 12.
Packers
- Packers HC Mike McCarthy said he is “very optimistic” that ILB Jake Ryan (ankle) will play in Monday night’s game. (Tom Silverstein)

Patriots
- Jeff Howe reports that DT Alan Branch, who is appealing his four-game suspension for violating the league’s drug policy, is travelling with the team and will be eligible to play.
- Howeย also reports that DE Jabaal Sheard travelled with the team after being a healthy scratch last week due to performance reasons.
