NFL Notes: Draft, Jets, Panthers, Titans

Draft

While hardly surprising, opinions from NFL evaluators are mixed regarding Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, writes Matt Miller of B/R.

“Four months ago I thought he was a Day 3 pick, ” an AFC player personnel director tells Miller. “Watch the Ohio State game and you’ll see an NFL-caliber quarterback. I’d take him in the first round. I love the kid.”

“The immaturity is gonna be an issue,” an AFC area scout said. “So will the hand size, speed and his body type. I still think he’s probably a Round 3 kid.”

Jets

• The New York Jets officially list RB Matt Forte and G Brian Winters as questionable for Week 14’s game against the Broncos.
• The good news for the Jets is that WR Robby Anderson practiced in full on Friday and will suit up on Sunday.
• The Jets also ruled out LB Bruce Carter.

Panthers

• The Carolina Panthers officially list C Tyler Larsen, WR Kaelin Clay, WR Devin Funchess, C Ryan Kalil, and WR Greg Olsen all as questionable for Week 14’s game.
• The Panthers also ruled out LB Shaq Thompson for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
• Panthers HC Ron Rivera said that Funchess being listed as questionable is a precautionary move by them. (Joe Person)
• According to Rivera, both RBs Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne will be active on Sunday. (Jourdan Rodrigue)

Titans

• The Tennessee Titans officially ruled out OLB Derrick Morgan (knee) for Week 14’s game. Tennessee will start Erik Walden in place of Morgan.
• Titans CB Logan Ryan cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol on Friday and will be good to go on Sunday.
• Tennessee will also have WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) and TE Delanie Walker (ankle) available this weekend.
