NFL Notes: Michael Vick, Colts, Dolphins, Patriots, & Steelers

Michael Vick

Free agent QB Michael Vick is working out with former NFL WR Chris Chambers and plans to play another three years.

“Last two weeks, he has done phenomenal. There are several teams that want him,” Chambers said of Vick, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “He wanted to be on a winning team. He wants to play three years. Eventually, he wants to start again.”

Colts

Colts OC Pep Hamilton believes first-round WR Phillip Dorsett can “absolutely” have an immediate impact this season.

“Absolutely,” Hamilton responded, per Stephen Holder. “His play speed is exceptional…We can attack the field vertically.”

Dolphins

  • Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey mentioned that fifth-round RB Jay Ajayimade a really positive first impression” last week.
  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald points out that the Dolphins have enough cap room to sign a free agent guard or a linebacker before training camp.

Patriots

The Patriots’ legal counsel issued an extensive response to the Ted Wells report on Thursday stating their case and outlining their issues with the conclusions in detail.

According to the Patriots, the term “Deflator” that was used to by Jim McNally was in reference to him losing weight, and not deflating footballs.

Beyond that, the Patriots’ lawyers claim that texts messages in which Jastremski and McNally used the term “Deflator” were them joking.

It’s very long, so it will take some time to get through the entire document.

Steelers

  • Steelers signed fifth-round pick TE Jesse James to a four-year contract.

  1. Lay off the crackpipe Vick. Your aging carcass gets injured way too much to play even one more year, let alone three.
