NFL Notes: Ndamukong Suh, Browns, Giants, Jaguars

Ndamukong Suh

  • Peter King would not be surprised if hearing officer Ted Cottrell overturned the league’s decision to suspend DT Ndamukong Suh for their Wildcard matchup.

Browns

  • GM Ray Farmer said Tuesday that he would not hesitate to draft another quarterback in the first-round.
  • Farmer added that he still believes Johnny Manziel can develop into a “solid starter.

“I do think he can develop into a solid starter in this league, yes,” said Farmer. “I think that the sample size available is like you said, small. I’d say to that end, we all gotta be patient. I think there’s an opportunity for the guy to make changes. It’s up to him if he’s going to make those changes, but I think the talent is in his body to accomplish that.”

Giants

  • Giants owner John Mara said he’s “very disappointed about the past season, sick about it.” (Kimberly Jones)
  • Mara confirmed that HC Tom Coughlin will be back next year. (Kimberly Jones)
  • Mara hinted that they could extension Coughlin’s contract beyond 2015. (Dan Graziano)
  • Mara told reporters that he doesn’t think it’s unfair to say that next year is “win or else” for a lot of people in the Giants organization. (Conor Orr)
