Trades
- Ben Volin of the Boston Globe writes that if the Broncos don’t reach agreement with the 49ers to trade for QB Colin Kaepernick, it’s worth keeping an eye on Tyrod Taylor, Mike Glennon, Josh McCown, or Nick Foles as possible trade options.
- Volin believes teams like the Seahawks, Panthers or Raiders could make a play for Browns LT Joe Thomas at some point in the coming months.
- Another trade candidate is Jets DL Muhammad Wilkerson, whom Volin believes would be a great fit for the Colts or Cowboys.
Giants
- Paul Schwartz of the New York Post writes that the Giants “definitely would” take a cornerback at No. 10 overall, especially if Vernon Hargreaves is on the board.
Patriots
- Mike Reiss writes that the Patriots appear to be set to “phase out 3-technique tackles on their roster while focusing more on bigger, stouter tackles.”
- This helps to explain why they parted ways with Chris Jones and Dominique Easley last week.
- Reiss mentions that the Patriots could consider drafting a a developmental offensive tackle like Auburn’s Shon Coleman this year.
Redskins
- According to Rich Tandler, it’s seem inevitable that the Redskins will eventually release WR Andre Roberts and possibly Adam Hayward at some point. Doing so would create around $3 million in cap space.
- One other notable roster cut, according to Tandler, could be LB Perry Riley, who would free up $4 million in cap room if released. However, Tandler says that Washington is learning toward keeping him to maintain depth at the position.
